Pub day! Woo hoo!

To quote every second post on LinkedIn, I’m delighted to announce that my article on sleep justice and speculative design has been published by the extremely prestigious Design Journal. It’s even open access, so you can read it here for free. I really would love you to, and to hear your feedback.

Design Journal cover.
This is what the Design Journal looks like, just so you know.

The article is an analysis of how contemporary sleep products frame the problem of poor sleep and an exploration of whether speculative/critical design might help designers do a better job of addressing the social and economic factors that erode people’s sleep in the 21st century.

Here’s a cool diagram from it to whet your appetite (or not).

I intend to follow this up with an article on my practice-based research using SCD sleep product prototypes, but for now I’m just enjoying the fruit of some bloody hard work!
